Middle & High School Summer Programs
Founder/Creative Director of Monster Sessions, Dame Taylor announced an expanded series of programs and activities for local middle and high schools that will connect thousands of students to Monster Sessions interactive classes, camps & events.
These programs are intended to be fun, music culturally relevant, hands-on experiences to educate students on the power and possibilities of music. New school programs will launch as early as May, as students prepare for Summer vacation from school. Enrollment for these programs will be available April 1.
The School Outreach program will build on the support Dame Taylor is already providing the worldwide music community, adding to his mission to development organizational structure in music, eventually allowing students to have real careers in music.
“Music is a vital part of all of our lives… What would any of us do without music, or sports? These are my two passions, and I think they are very much connected to one another. Music and Sports are probably 2 of the biggest passions of most of the people in our society, all over the world. We feel both music & sports in out hearts, and the world would be a very different place without either. I think the one thing that separates music & sports, is the lack of organizational structure in music, versus the dynamic structure in sports, which is why the sports industry continues to grow astronomically every year, the reason why careers can be attained in sports and lives can be changed on a global scale. I want to see the same structure in music one day, and I will be sure to play my part to contributing to that…”, Dame expresses.
“Summer is a critical moment to provide our young people with fun, engaging and relevant opportunities to learn and grow, and we’re thrilled to partner with community-based organizations and schools across Los Angeles and Orange County to make every Summer an amazing time for our future leaders.”
Monster Sessions looks forward to “cultivating curiosity” and a lifelong joy of learning through:
Activities to develop their interests, build skills, foster conversations and generate new experiences
Helping young people feel more socially connected to their peers, caring adults, professionals, opportunity, community and their peers
Social emotional and academic support
The programs that Monster Sessions Summer will provide for middle and high school students will have an earlier enrollment period, so families can better plan for their summer. Students will also have access to tools, resources and activities tailored to meet their educational needs. Seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
